Effective 28/10/2026
Terms of service
- Faces from the free families are free to use in your product, commercially too, with the small credit link the embed adds. Free characters are shared: another agent somewhere could look the same.
- Claiming a character ($299, or $499 for one made from your website; paid once) makes that exact character yours alone: we stop giving it to anyone else, and it shows only on your domains. Payment is handled by Dodo Payments, our Merchant of Record.
- Changed your mind? A full refund within 7 days, before the character is live on your site.
- You're responsible for your product and what your agent says; the character only shows what your product tells it to.
- Custom characters designed for your brand are agreed in writing with you, separately, and paid directly to us.
1. About these terms
TaamToom (https://taamtoom.com) is run by VIKAS DATTATRAY IPAR (“we”, “us”). These terms apply when you use our website, the <ai-face> web component (“the embed”), our image API, or buy a claim. By using any of them, you agree to these terms. If you use TaamToom on behalf of a company, you agree for that company and confirm you may do so.
TaamToom is made for businesses and developers building products. If you buy as a consumer, any rights the law gives you as a consumer still apply. Questions about these terms: hello.vikasip@gmail.com.
2. What we offer
- Free characters. Give your agent's name or ID to the embed or the image API and it gets an expressive character that shows what your agent is doing.
- Claim. A one-time purchase that makes one character exclusively yours, delivered as a key for the embed and the image API.
- Custom characters. Characters designed around a brand. These are quoted, agreed and paid for separately (see section 7); they are not sold through our checkout.
3. Using free characters
We grant you a free, non-exclusive, worldwide licence to show characters from the free families in your websites, apps and agents, including commercial ones, through the embed or the image API, and in images you download from our site. Free faces show a small credit link back to us; keep it visible. Claim-only families, brand colours, outfits, products and marks, renaming, and removing the credit come with a claim. You may not sell or redistribute the characters as artwork on their own (for example as stock art, stickers or merchandise), present them as your own creation, or register them as your trademark.
Free characters are shared. The same name always gives the same character, so another product could show the same one. If you need it to be yours alone, claim it (section 4).
We keep improving how characters look and move. A character's identity (its family, colours, look, eyes and accessory) stays the same for the same name unless we tell you otherwise; how finely it is drawn and animated may get better over time.
4. Claiming a character
When you claim a character and your payment is confirmed:
- We grant you an exclusive, worldwide licence to use that character in your products, for as long as the claim lasts. It has no expiry and no renewal. The character stays ours; what you buy is the right to be the only one using it.
- From then on, we stop giving that exact character to anyone else: anyone else whose agent's name lands on it gets a different one, and nobody else can choose it. This takes effect everywhere within minutes of your payment being confirmed.
- “That exact character” means its combination of family, style, colours, look, eyes and accessory. Characters are made from shared families and colours, so others may look similar (another duck, another blue); exclusivity covers yours, not ones that resemble it.
- You get a key (
<ai-face key="ak_…">, also usable as?key=on the image API). The embed shows your character only on the domains you list for the key; you can change that list from your claim page. - Your key and code appear on screen shortly after payment, and you can find them again with your payment ID. If they don't appear, write to us with your payment ID and we'll sort it out.
A key is not a password: it sits in your page's code, where anyone can read it. What protects your character is that it only renders on your domains and that the licence is yours. If you find someone else using it, tell us and we'll take reasonable steps, such as blocking their access to it, but we can't guarantee to stop every copy of an image that has been shown in a browser. Don't try to use a key that isn't yours, or to get around the domain check.
You may not resell or sublicense a claimed character or its key on its own. If you sell or transfer the product or business it represents, write to us and we'll move the claim to the new owner.
Only one person can claim a character. If two payments for the same character arrive at almost the same time, the first one wins and the other is refunded in full automatically.
5. Payments, prices and taxes
Claims are sold through Dodo Payments, who act as our Merchant of Record: they are the reseller of the claim to you, process your payment, issue your receipt and handle sales tax and VAT. Their buyer terms also apply to your purchase. We never see your card details.
Prices are shown in US dollars and are paid once; there are no subscriptions. Any sales tax or VAT is shown at checkout before you pay. If something about a charge looks wrong, please write to us before raising a dispute with your bank, and we'll put it right.
Refunds and cancellations are covered by our refund and cancellation policy.
6. Your product, and what your agent says
The character shows the states and words your product sends it; it doesn't decide what your agent says or does. You are responsible for your product, your agent's behaviour and output, the content you show next to a character, and for following the laws that apply to them (for example, telling people they are talking to an AI where that's required).
If someone makes a claim against us because of your product, your content or your breach of these terms, you agree to cover our reasonable costs of dealing with it.
7. Custom characters
When we design a character for your brand, the scope, price, timeline, payments and who owns what are set out in a written proposal or agreement between us. That agreement takes precedence over these terms where they differ. These services are invoiced and paid directly to us, not through our checkout.
8. Acceptable use
Don't use TaamToom, or any character, to:
- break the law, or help anyone else do so;
- mislead people, for example by pretending to be another company or a real person;
- promote hate, harassment, violence, or sexual content;
- represent tobacco, vaping or weapons brands;
- overload, attack or scrape our services, or interfere with anyone else's use of them.
We may suspend access (including a key) used in breach of this section. Where we reasonably can, we'll tell you first and give you a chance to fix it.
9. Who owns what
We own the characters, their designs, the embed, the image API and this website. Apart from the licences in these terms, nothing transfers to you. You own your product, your agent and your brand. Anything you send us to make your character (colours, logos, products) stays yours; you let us use it only to make and show your character, and you confirm you have the right to let us.
10. The service
The embed works in your visitors' browsers. Free characters need nothing from our servers; claimed characters check their key with our servers when a page loads. We work to keep our servers fast and available but can't promise they will never be interrupted, and we aren't responsible for delays or failures caused by things outside our reasonable control (such as outages at our hosting or payment providers). If we ever decide to stop offering claims, we will tell everyone who holds one by email, with reasonable notice.
11. Warranties and liability
TaamToom is provided “as is”. To the extent the law allows, we make no promises beyond those in these terms, and we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses, such as lost profits, revenue or data. Our total liability to you for anything relating to TaamToom is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim arose. Nothing in these terms limits liability that the law does not allow us to limit, or your rights as a consumer.
12. Ending
You can stop using TaamToom at any time. We may end your use if you seriously or repeatedly break these terms. If we end a claim for any other reason, through no fault of yours, we'll refund what you paid for it.
13. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. We'll change the date at the top, and if a change matters for claim owners, we'll email them before it takes effect. A change never takes away a claim you've already bought, as long as you keep to these terms.
14. Law and the rest
These terms are governed by the laws of INDIA, and disputes will be handled by its courts, unless the law where you live gives you the right to bring a claim there. If any part of these terms can't be enforced, the rest still applies. These terms, with any written agreement for custom work, are the whole agreement between us about TaamToom.
